Introducing The Pantry Essentials Reset Box

Christabel Biella, BRiMM’s Commercial Director and Head of Food and Home, explains why she chose each of these kitchen swaps – that nourish both you and the planet

At BRiMM, we believe that small, everyday choices can have a big impact – especially when it comes to food. Whether you’re a seasoned flexitarian (that’s a person who has a mostly veggie diet but sometimes eats meat or fish, to the uninitiated) or are just starting to rethink your cupboard staples, our Pantry Essentials Reset Box is here to help you make delightful and easy swaps that are both better for your health and that of the planet.

Curated by myself – Christabel Biella, former buyer at House of Fraser and a long-time foodie with experience at Farmdrop and Oddbox – this box is a handpicked edit of founder-led, flavour-first products that offer more than just great taste. Each item champions regenerative agriculture, circular packaging or waste-fighting brilliance. And every single one is something I genuinely keep and use in my own kitchen.

So what’s inside? Here’s the full breakdown – including the backstory behind each and specifically why it earned its place in our Reset Box lineup.

Hero Oils and Smart Refills

Citizens of Soil Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500ml)

Award-winning, buttery and herby with a clean finish – this oil is both made in small batches on a family-owned mill in Greece and supports female-led farms using regenerative practices. Citizens of Soil describe the flavour as “fresh and buttery, with an initial aroma of fresh-cut green grass, followed by the fragrance of herbs and tomatoes… [it has a] smooth and delicate creamy feel… [and includes] pleasant tingling cracked pepper spice.”

Citizens of Soil Olive Oil Refill Pouch (500ml)

Instead of replacing your bottle, refill it. These pouches are lightweight, smartly designed and reduce packaging waste – a simple step toward a circular kitchen.

Spices and Salts That Do More

Steenbergs Sea Salt (100g)

Sun-dried, unrefined and full of oceanic minerality – this Portuguese salt is part of the Slow Food Movement and makes even your simplest meals taste more alive.

Steenbergs Chai Masala (40g)
A warming, organic blend created by the Steenbergs family – think cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves and nutmeg. Stir into tea, porridge or hot milk for instant comfort.

Steenbergs Aleppo Chilli (45g)

Smoky, salty, gently spicy – this Turkish chilli (also known as Pul Biber) is a go-to for finishing dishes. I keep it by the stove at all times

Big-Impact Beans

Bold Bean Co Queen Chickpeas (700g)
Yotam Ottolenghi says “This isn’t just about chickpeas – it’s about redefining what a pantry staple looks like… giving them an exciting, almost al dente texture.”
And Nigella Lawson is also a fan, saying “fabulous chick peas (plus other pulses) from the Bold Bean Co are…a game-changer in the kitchen”.
Once you’ve tried these giant, creamy chickpeas, there’s no going back. Roast them till crispy or simmer in a tomato-harissa stew – they shine either way.

Bold Bean Co Queen Butter Beans (700g)
Juicy, protein-packed and unbelievably soft – these are my desert-island pantry pick. Try with pesto or in a rich tomato sauce. A total crowd-pleaser.

Pasta, Grains and Pantry Power-Ups

Northern Pasta Co Rigatoni (450g)
Made from British spelt using traditional Italian methods – these ridged tubes are spot-on for soaking up slow-cooked sauces. Think comfort food with a conscious twist. “I set out to make the best pasta," Imogen, the founder, explains. "It had to have that chewy, bouncy texture: grab sauce, cook quickly, be kind to your gut and to the planet… [this is] no compromise pasta.”
The Guardian has also noted that these “British pasta producers… sparked a ‘British pasta revolution’… Northern Pasta Co is seeing a 357% increase in sales [and is] gaining appreciation, even among some Italians.”

Northern Pasta Co Radiatori (450g)
Quick-cooking and flavour-rich, Radiatori are made in small batches in Cumbria. Their textured shape catches every drop of sauce – ideal for speedy weeknight dinners.

Nice Rice Pure Basmati (1kg)
This light, fluffy basmati is grown in Haryana, India using farming methods that halve carbon emissions. Comes in a recyclable paper pack and tastes amazing every time.

Isle of Wight Tomatoes say it's “made using fresh tomatoes grown locally… our Shakshuka is a medium-spiced sauce so you can add more of a kick if you like it super spicy!”

IOW Tomatoes Smoked Tomato Pesto (140g)
No cheese, no fillers – just bold, rich flavour from smoked tomatoes, paprika and basil oil. Stir through pasta or drizzle on eggs for instant depth.
