What’s Inside Our Minimalist Bathroom Box

What’s Inside Our Minimalist Bathroom Box

When curating this Reset Box, we had two clear questions in mind: what are the bare necessities necessary to kickstart your day, and how can we make those product swaps better?

The Minimalist Bathroom Box is all about adding more to your morning, with less – it's about discovering how the right essentials can turn a rushed routine into a moment of mindfulness. And also a showcase that planet-positive swaps doesn’t necessarily mean compromise: they can be beautifully premium.

We catered this box to those who want to dip their toes into a new selection of brands – and BRiMM. But also for those ultra-efficient minimalists out there who quite literally simply shower, brush their teeth, slap on a moisturiser and head out the door.

Below I have deep-dived into why each brand and product has been chosen and what makes them stand out. We’ve looked at their accreditations, supply chains, how they source their ingredients and how and where the products are made. They’ve also all gone through the scrutiny of the BRiMM team – we’ve thoroughly tried, tested and vetted each and every item.

Because sometimes the most radical thing you can do is choose less, but choose better. And we’re here to help you make that switch, straight from your bathroom shelf.

My Skin Feels Moisturised
I first discovered My Skin Feels Moisturised at a pop-up shop called Raye The Store (a hub for newness in the beauty, food and drink space) and was instantly drawn by the name, the eye-catching packaging and then, of course, the product on my skin. It’s their bestseller and you totally understand why when you glide it over your cheeks (or even across the back of your hand). It melts in with supreme precision, but what’s really neat is the story behind the brand.

Their founder Danielle (also a part-time psychic medium, no less) worked for a big beauty brand and was fed up with seeing huge waste when it came to ingredients, packaging and, well, the entire business. So she set out to change that with My Skin Feels Mosturised, a 99.57% natural product, that’s vegan, cruelty-free and made without any nasties but instead nutrient-rich food waste. What’s more, its packaging is recycled and a percentage of sales go to a local food bank, plus – it really makes a difference to your skin.

The star of this product is the rescued breakfast oats, which, when fermented, release a rich antioxidant, amino acid and post-biotic that soothes inflammation, balances the microbiome, reduces blemishes and breakouts and prevents dryness. The results – especially on very sensitive or eczema-prone skin – are remarkable. Beauty advocate Jo Jones even said: “If you have teens or a husband who doesn’t really appreciate ‘high science’ skincare that costs a fortune, but they want a good, sustainable, well-thought-through, efficacious product that’s really doing good, rather than just being another product on the shelf, then please look up this brand”.

Bamford Deodorant
A simple spritz of this genderless deo will quite literally leave you feeling like you’ve just walked out of the Bamford Spa. Made without aluminium, this natural spray deodorant has been formulated to be 68% organic, 99% natural and made using carefully sourced organic ingredients, straight from the much-loved Daylesford Farm.

The iconic essential oil blend of antibacterial tea tree leaf extract, antiseptic sweet orange essential oil and anti-inflammatory patchouli oil provides lasting odour protection, so you can feel confident that no bad odours will formulate. What I also love about this deodorant is that it’s non-sticky and quick drying, so you can dress immediately, sans any white marks on your clothes. Adam from The Dapper Chapper blog reported, “I’ve personally only made the switch from antiperspirant to deodorant in recent years, so if you have too, or you combine deodorant and antiperspirant, this is an ideal product.

Zing Enamel Whitening Toothpaste in Original Mint
Many common supermarket toothpastes use ingredients derived from animal fats. Zing on the other hand, uses vegetable-derived, cruelty-free alternatives. They’ve also packed their toothpaste with hydroxyapatite, a magical ingredient that works to repair your enamel, while preventing sensitivity and restoring the enamel's original gloss. Christabel on our team used it for a month and after visiting her dentist she was asked what she’d been doing differently. Her dentist asked because her teeth appeared noticeably brighter and whiter, while still looking healthy. The formula is also free from SLS (the stuff that makes your toothpaste foam up), which can often cause mouth ulcers, and titanium dioxide, a white dye and suspected carcinogen found in cheap toothpastes.

They never test on animals, they’re vegan friendly, designed, developed and manufactured in the UK, which means the carbon footprint is as low as possible. They also share proceeds with The Teenage Cancer Trust, pledging a minimum of £10k but with the aim of raising £100k. But if all of that doesn’t excite you, tennis legend Carlos Alcaraz is a fan, as well as hundreds of dentists. "I have recently started using my Zing toothpaste more and I am slowly starting to get used to the feeling of the reduced foam,” says Dr Zaeem Jafri. “It’s an expensive toothpaste, but considering the environmental benefits I am introducing it into my routine. I keep it alongside my Aesop handwash, not for everyday use (purely because of cost) but for special occasions.”

Kinfill Body Soap Bar Velvet Verveine
Taking things back to basics in the shower with a traditional soap is one of my best pieces of advice. Not only is it nostalgic, your bathroom will be infused with the smell of sweet lemon verbena, jasmine and petitgrain – plus it’ll last you forever. And it’s key to note that this is no ordinary soap. The Netherlands-based brand has incorporated planet-consciously sourced jojoba oil that is mega hydrating and which supports their drive to preserve natural resources.

“A simple solid soap can last two to three months or the equivalent of two to three 250ml shower gel bottles,” home and lifestyle curator Isabelle Vandeplassche reminded us. “And that’s not all, this Kinfill soap is made with natural ingredients and antibacterial properties, perfect for everyday use and suitable for all skin types.”
