Planet-positive hero
“Can I cheat and choose two? Nobel Laureate Wangari Maathai planted trees and hope in equal measure – she made environmentalism feel both deeply practical and deeply human, especially for women. And Kate Raworth is reimagining economics in a way that actually serves people and the planet. Her work challenges the obsession with endless economic growth and instead focuses on meeting everyone’s basic needs – food, education, dignity – without trashing the ecosystem for future generations. It's clever, compassionate and honestly the only kind of growth I’m interested in.”
Issue you care most about changing
“I’d love to see a shift in the ownership and influence of mainstream media – particularly in the UK and US, where so much of it is still run by a handful of billionaires (The Times, Telegraph, Daily Mail) with very specific interests. Even though digital platforms have changed the landscape, traditional media still holds enormous power: it shapes public perception, influences elections and decides which issues get taken seriously. And if that power sits with a self-serving elite, what hope do topics like climate change, equality or human rights have of being represented fairly?”

“I’m a skincare addict, so really committing to refillable beauty – for example IRÄYE and Noble Panacea are skincare brands that do this very well, without compromising on luxury. I’ve also tried to cut down on Ubers and taxis when I can – and master the art of the power walk (sometimes in heels!).”

“I was recently introduced to N. Peal Cashmere, which has such an incredible heritage –it’s been worn by everyone from Audrey Hepburn to Sean Connery. They use GOTS-certified 100% organic cashmere, which makes it all the more conscious. I’ve also been taking Artah’s state-of-the-art supplements for a few years now – they’re B-Corp certified and genuinely make a difference. And Orveda – a clean, green and vegan skincare brand – is the real deal. The results are enough to convert anyone… it’s the reason Pamela Anderson went make-up free, after all!”
