What’s Inside Our First Ever Reset Box

Sam Zimmerman
All the products from BRiMM's Luxury Reset Box

Introducing some of the most effective self-care products in the market today – which also all happen to be both planet-positive and extremely good-looking additions to your bathroom shelves

Here at BRiMM we believe in buying enough. Not too much, as we – the human ‘we’ – have been recently; and not nothing at all, because we need to be realistic to make change happen.

Just enough. Of the right stuff. Which is why we’ve curated smashing (if I may say so myself) launch Reset Boxes.

Each brand and product within our curation has been chosen purposely, with care, testing, research and much deliberation and debate. It has taken our team months to ensure the very best offering and we hope you enjoy this little deep dive into why we’ve chosen what we have.

We’ve taken into consideration our audience’s (ie, your) regular beauty and grooming buying habits, the (little) time you have to get ready each morning and evening, how to most effectively instill more planet-positive habits in you, as well as how to show that simply buying the right, better brands can really make a huge difference to our collective impact on the planet. So if you’re interested in resetting your essentials or buying less plastic – we have something for you.

I, Sam Zimmerman, have the privilege of heading up BRiMM's beauty category, and, as an ex-beauty editor myself (with a bathroom cabinet bursting at the seams), the products found in this, our Luxury British Brands Box are now all daily essentials for me. Each brand and product has a special narrative, and so settle in for a little beauty product storytime…

Rollr Deodorant

Often guests to my bathroom will compliment this fluted glass bottle and ask inquisitive questions as to what it actually is. ‘My deodorant,’ I reply, after which many more questions follow. Because this isn’t just any deodorant. It has been years in the making by a wonderful founder (and now friend) Milo, who wanted to create a luxury ‘fragrance-esq’ deodorant, with natural ingredients, that’s refillable, smells better than anything you’ve come across before, and most importantly, truly works.

To complement the bottle, the Rollr deodorant comes with personalisable roller heads – from Rose Quartz and Blue Dumortierite to Green Aventurine – and the scents are better than Aesop (in my personal opinion): Vetiver & Lemon, Mandarin & Cedarwood, Clary Sage & Rosemary. While the bottle is glass, and yes, does come at a higher price point of £45 – its paper refillable sachets come in at £15 for two, which means that the cost-per-roll isn’t so steep. Simply empty the sachet into the bottle, add water and roll-away. In terms of performance, you’ll be dry (and smelling mighty fine) from morning ‘til night.

But don’t just take my word for it. “Rollr is a drop of beauty for the eyes, nose and skin to kick-start your morning routine,” says neuroaesthetics expert, Saskia Wheeler. “If you’re someone who values a bit of get up and go in the mornings, choose the vetiver scent for a blend of cognitive awakeness and anti-anxiety, to keep you focused, calm and balanced for the day ahead.”

Hotel, Mike Hand & Body Wash & Lotion

A chic duo at the sink is a must in my house and so when I discovered Hotel, Mike it quickly took centre stage. After years of experience working at Estée Lauder, their founder Harriet wanted to create a body-care brand that could balance premium quality with lower impact, while maintaining a playful, approachable personality. And so for two years she developed unique scents, using biotech advancements, fermentation practices and upcycled and cold-pressed ingredients to minimise her environmental impact, all to create Hotel, Mike.

“The idea of biotech is brilliant – sustainable skincare is the future," expresses Dr Gaylna, aesthetics and longevity skincare expert. “I love the potency control and efficiency of the Hotel, Mike products. Fermentation has centuries of health benefits too and it's interesting to see it used in topical products."

It’s super early days for the brand considering it only just launched in June 2024, but the scents, textures and positivity that Harriet radiates has everyone who’s tried the product at BRiMM HQ excited. While its low-impact accreditations are still being worked on, we know that this brand will be a ‘one-to-watch’ – so stay tuned.

Bamford Geranium Shampoo & Conditioner

When I think of luxury British brands, Bamford is one that leaps top-of-mind. If you’ve been to a Daylesford Farm, you’ll know why. The wholesome brand falls nothing short of spectacular and the beauty range deserves perhaps even more street cred than it’s had.

The intoxicating scents, serene green bottles and hardworking formulas of this hair duo mean that all hair types – from coloured to curly – are taken care of. Peter Bevan, writing for The Independent’s Men’s Grooming column said as much. "First of all, it smells of the brand’s signature scent – a blend of geranium, eucalyptus, peppermint and lavender – so every time you wash your hair, your bathroom ends up feeling like the brand’s spa in the Cotswolds. Other than the aroma, the shampoo’s enriched with revitalising castor seed oil and vitamin B5, while the conditioner is hydrating, thanks to macadamia oil and shea butter.”

But did you know the small details behind Bamford? Lady Carole Bamford (its founder), who has been farming organically since the seventies, published its B Corp Impact Report in which she shares the circularity initiatives and encouraging innovations used to reduce waste across the businesses: from transforming spent coffee grounds into organic body scrubs, beeswax into beauty products and grape skins into lower-impact leather alternatives.

Evolve Climate Defence Facial Cream SPF30

Wearing an SPF everyday is a non-negotiable for me, though perhaps not for most. This face sun cream may well convert the non-appliers among us though. “I know the challenge of finding a non-greasy yet effective sun cream that won’t leave me with blemishes or oily skin,” expresses Laura, the founder of Evolve. “This is one of the products I am most proud of.” Evolve formulate and distribute in small batches from their Hertfordshire based eco studio and have worked seriously hard to create a light, perfect-under-foundation, even reef-friendly SPF. Featuring UVA and UVB defence, this non-nano Zinc Oxide-based SPF 30 also melts in without leaving a white cast.

There are also some ingredient superstars packed in too. For example, lingonberry stem cells help protect from the damaging effects of the sun, while prickly pear cactus extract hydrates and soothes irritation and hyaluronic acid, plumps and amps up moisture in the skin. The packaging is a combination of a sugarcane (the tube) and a grass paper (the box) – both of which are recyclable.

Founder Laura has been creating nature-inspired skincare with proven results for more than 15 years and her transparency about aiming to become a ‘better brand’ has always struck a cord. Sharing that you're not perfect but are on a path to ‘do better’ sits well with us at BRiMM. You can read their annual impact report for more info.
