A room-filling burn of woods, smoke and shadowed green. Verden's Arborealist Scented Candle carries the brand's most distinctive fragrance into a 40-hour candle made entirely from rapeseed and coconut wax.
The scent is earthy and warm, like damp forest floor and distant wood smoke, with something floral underneath that lifts as the wax pool deepens.
There is no paraffin, soy, palm, beeswax or synthetic additive in the formula. The wick is lead-free. It comes in a clear glass vessel, fully recyclable, housed in a recycled card box.
Light it once and the depth becomes immediately clear.

The Arborealist fragrance was developed by Charlotte Semler, co-founder of Votary, from childhood summers on the Danish coast, and in candle form it does something the washes and balm cannot.
It fills a room completely, settling into curtains, cushions and throws with a scent closer to damp forest floor and wood smoke than anything decorative or sweet.
London interior designer Beata Heuman was a fan long before Verden invited her to collaborate on her own candle with the brand, and the Arborealist is stocked at Domenica Marland alongside considered design objects rather than in a beauty aisle. The wax is a rapeseed and coconut blend for a clean, steady burn.
The scent stays in the room long after the flame is out, and people tend to ask about it.
How to use
How to use
Light in the evening alongside the Verden Arborealist Hand & Body Wash or Balm to carry the scent from bathroom to living room.
On first burn, allow the entire top wax layer to melt to the edge of the vessel to prevent tunnelling on subsequent burns.
Burn in a well-ventilated room, away from draughts.
Trim the wick to 5mm before each re-light.
After extinguishing, centre and straighten the wick.
Never leave a lit candle unattended.
The glass vessel can be cleaned and repurposed once the candle is finished.
