Nice Rice is no ordinary rice.v As well as tasting amazing, with a super soft fluffy texture, this rice is:

• The most sustainably farmed, cutting CO2-eq emissions by 1.23kg (or 49%) compared to conventional rice farms. Their farms save >3000 litres of water per kg of rice by following the sustainable farming method. For the 2022 crop their farms produced 49% lower CO2-equivalent emissions than conventional rice farms. That's a saving of 1.23kg of CO2-eq per kilo of rice!
• Nice Rice are proud to be the first rice brand in the world to purchase their biofuels for sea freight.
• Nice Rice's sustainably farmed rice is helping to fight poverty. Their rice is grown by a group of 66 farmers in Haryana state, India – a state where 11% of the 25m population are living in poverty (World Bank report).
• They pay their farmers a premium price for achieving the highest grade under the sustainable farming standard. The hope is that this will help incentivise farmers to commit to sustainable farming for the long-term. In 2022 Nice Rice premium paid was INR1000 per tonne over the market price. They are currently working on a way to benchmark this premium for the 2024 harvest.
