Great British Cuppa is Bird & Blend's answer to the question of what a normal teabag would taste like if it was actually good. Two whole-leaf black teas, Kenyan and Indian Assam, give it a rounded, malty depth that holds up with milk or without.

It doesn't try to be clever. There's no flavouring, no fruit pieces, no gimmick, just proper black tea, brewed the way a builder's brew should taste: strong enough to trust, never bitter enough to regret. It won a Great Taste Award in 2016, and every bag is plastic-free, made from Soilon rather than the sealed plastic mesh in most supermarket teabags.

Why it's BRiMM

Expect a plain teabag, and this one still catches you out. One drinker called it 'the most amazing cup of tea', found by chance on a trip to Liverpool. It says 'strong' on the tin, but it isn't a stewed builder's brew, it's clean, malty and balanced.

How to use

One bag per cup. Boil water to 100°C, steep 2-4 minutes depending on strength, with or without milk.

For a proper builder's brew, leave the bag in the full 4 minutes.

Pairs naturally with Pip & Nut peanut butter on toast.
