About this product

Stronghold is dark, sweet and low in acidity. Dark chocolate and fudge at the base, brown sugar throughout, with a syrupy body that coats the cup. It's the kind of espresso that's familiar from the first sip, which is exactly what it was designed to be.

The blend draws on two naturally processed lots from Brazil. Fazenda Mariano contributes sweet, nutty richness with dried fruit and brown sugar. Fazenda São João adds depth: dark chocolate, truffle and toffee. Roasted slightly darker than Origin's other blends to bring out the intensity without sharpness. Works with or without milk. Whole bean, 250g, roasted at Origin's Porthleven roastery in Cornwall.

Why it's BRiMM

Stronghold is built on two of Origin's longest-standing producer relationships in Brazil. Fazenda Mariano has been sourced from for more than 15 years.

The Bachião family at Fazenda São João have been partners for over a decade, their coffee-growing history stretching back to the early 1900s.

The blend is roasted slightly darker than Origin's other blends, which is what gives it the syrupy body and low acidity that makes it work equally well black or with milk. Roasted in Cornwall by Europe's Best Speciality Coffee Roaster 2023 and 2024.
